About this album

I can't believe I spent 3 years recording this album (very inconsistently!).

It's been the strangest time - this was originally going to be an album about daydreaming and feeling alone while stuck in my house during lockdown, but as time progressed I learnt more about myself and started to actually understand these feelings. While themes of daydreaming are still ever present throughout, I eventually realised quite late into the process that I'm actually just singing about autism, ADHD, and gender dysphoria. That's right, I've got the full wombo combo, and maybe I'll speak about it more one day in the future.

Tracks 8, 9, and 10 are more lighthearted fun, and have much less to do with the overarching theme, but they're songs I'm still really proud of and would love for you to hear. Fun fact, back in 2018 on a livestream I once said I'd eventually make a proper song about cats, and here we finally are!

I had some help and inspiration with the lyrics on tracks 8-11, from someone who goes by Papaya. He didn't want any credit but he's a wonderful person and I couldn't just not!

Moments after the great cheese heist
When it seemed all the suspects were mice
Questioning everyone at least twice
His detective service is well priced

The case called for Alan
Cause people were ballin'
Shaking and nervous
They wanted it solved real nice

First Alan asked for help from Gwiffon
But all that he could find was a griffon
He was no use at all
He was too big and tall

And so Alan turned to Ricardo
To chase mice wherever they are so
Hiding cheddar, brie and asiago
Solving this crime is all they know!

They could track down the mouse
With the cheese in his house
But they need all their friends
To bring this case to its end

Then Nip joined in Alan's great adventure
Sniffing out the cheese at the centre
But the mouse was too smart
Nip was trapped near the start
And Ricardo was forced to surrender

And so Alan was left all alone
To solve this case all on his own
Alan put on his best cologne
To find a mouse that should've known
That Alan would have fun
With his sweet, sweet spoon gun
(Damn, what a sweet one)
And get paid in stacks of provolone
